Marigold (calendula) has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect so it is often used as a medicine. Marigold treats fungal infections, cleanses the body and intestines and facilitates digestion. Marigold is also known as a renewal skin herb. It helps to facilitate scaly and itchy skin, insect bites, purulent and poorly healing wounds as well as in the treatment of mucous membranes. Is also very suitable for the treatment of equine / canine urinary tract.
Marigold contains saponins and carotenoids which promotes skin healing and also has anti-inflammatory and bacteria-destroying effect.
Also includes tannins, essential oils and salicylic acid, which helps to cure infections, and enhances the secretion of bile. It also has a destructive impact on bacteria (especially staphylococci). Marigold can also be used to combat viruses and parasites, and it has been used as an anthelmintic.
Marigold is often used in ulcers, intestinal infections and increasing bile secretion.
NB! The plant is not suitable for lactating / pregnant mares due to oestrogen.
