Liquorice root started our journey into the world of herbs. It was a remedy used by the men who worked timber horses to keep their stomachs right. When our horses started to develop symptoms of ulcers we fed liquorice root and noticed a marked improvement. Symptoms disappeared completely when we switched from cubes and mueslis to a beet and balancer based diet, supplemented by herbs as individually required.
